Most Republicans and some Democrats have no interest in saving the planet. The primary reason why, I believe, is that they’re extreme right Evangelicals who believe in end times. “Why save the planet when God is coming to take me to paradise”?, they say to themselves. No, they don’t believe in climate change. In their minds, climate change is for hippies, pinkos and commies. What they believe in, is making as much money as possible until that glorious day when God comes to take them away, to a tax free haven built just for them. When it all comes to an end they’ll go stand on their front porch and wait for the limo – all dressed up in their Sunday suits, suit cases stuffed full of cash.
