It makes no sense to have any connection to winter sports and not care about what’s happening. I just got off the phone with a friend – Utah skiing is more brown than white. Ski areas in CA are barely hanging on.
Skiers and riders everywhere, should be speaking up. Ski areas should be taking a stand. People in the winter sports business should be speaking up and fighting. Instead, most aren’t saying anything.
It’s irresponsible and bogus to stand by and let this happen to our planet. If you’re in the winter sports business and you’re not fighting for the planet, then you have no convictions.
It’s getting to the point where people should boycott businesses that aren’t speaking up, that aren’t taking a stand. At minimum, they should be contacting these businesses to let them know that as a customer, you demand more of them. Demand, that they take a stand on climate. I’m not talking about greenwashing. I’m talking about taking meaningful actions that are uncomfortable.
