Most of the great lines at Aspen Highlands aren’t on the map. No, they’re little signs on trees.
So I have this thang, where I try to find all the little signs on trees. And, I don’t just take a picture — that’s cheating. I ski the line where the sign is.
Some of the lines where signs are (particularly on the Thunder Bowl side) aren’t skiable unless there’s lots of snow or the snow is soft. They’re too steep and rocky — no sign is worth getting hurt (or worse) for.
This is my first year looking for signs. There’s been a lot of snow, so I’ve been able to find a lot of signs.
If you go to Highlands and you find a new sign not here, give me a clue so I can go look for it!
Here’s what I’ve found so far.

Hey im gonna be out there in about a week and a few of these signs interest me. Could you tell me at least what side of the mountain FTIS is on?
Thunder Bowl side.
I’ll be there next Saturday, looking for 2 new signs!
Guess what F.T.I.S stands for?
