After seeing Phish the 1st time with Tommy P. and Kane, I was hooked. I wanted more. So I took a road trip to San Francisco to Phish at Bill Graham Auditorium. Bill Graham is sacred ground for concerts, I’ve always wanted to go see a show there.
My first Phish road trip.
What a buzz. I’m at Bill Graham seeing Phish. I’m overwhelmed, I needed to pinch myself that this was really happening.
2nd night. My hotel downtown was not what I expected. So I used up some free nights on hotels.com, punched way above my weight and booked 2 nights at the Fairmont. Holy smokes, what a snazzy joint. So now, not only am I seeing Phish at Bill Graham, I’m staying at the Fairmont! Wow. Is this really happening???
3rd night. The Giants are playing in the World Series. I’m checking the score, because how cool would it be if the Giants won the World Series while I’m at the Phish concert – in San Francisco. It happened!
While Phish was playing The Moma Dance, the Giants won the series. Phish then broke out of the song and broke into a few licks of We Are the Champions. Phucking cool!. Here’s the song. If you don’t want to listen to the whole song, skip to 3:50, then listen for the crowd to cheer. Then Phish played We Are the Champions. Un real. Wow.
