Look what’s going on in China

December 9, 2015 By paulie Leave a Comment

Beijing_red_alertOn Monday, Beijing issued a red alert for the first time ever. A red alert basically means don’t go outside because the air is too dangerous.

From the piece:

By 4 p.m., walking the dim streets was like strolling through a coal mine. The municipal air quality index read 308, rated “hazardous” by United States standards — a level at which people should not set foot outdoors. Because of industrial coal burning, Chinese cities regularly have air of that quality, among the world’s worst.

For many residents, the red alert — used for the first time since an emergency plan for pollution was unveiled two years ago — underscored the devil’s handshake that China has made in recent years: the trading of a healthy living environment for breakneck economic growth. Now, as Communist Party leaders try to transform this dystopian scenario, many Chinese are realizing lasting change could take years, maybe decades.

There’s more.

Mengke_Glacier_RetreatingThe Mengke Glacier is retreating. Not just by a little, by a lot. When this happens, all hell will break loose.

From the piece:

The extreme effects predicted of global climate change are already happening in western China. Glacier retreat here and across the so-called Third Pole, the glaciers of the Himalayas and related mountain ranges, threatens Asia’s water supply. Towns and villages along the arid Hexi Corridor, a passage on the historic Silk Road where camels still roam, have suffered floods and landslides caused by sudden summer rainstorms. Permafrost is disappearing from the Tibet-Qinghai Plateau, jeopardizing the existence of plants and animals, the livelihoods of its people and even the integrity of infrastructure like China’s high-altitude railway to Lhasa, Tibet.

So if millions of people in China don’t have water, then what? They’re going to move to higher ground, that’s what. They’ll call in the loans we owe them. You think a few Syrians who want to come here are bad? Wait till millions of Chinese want to come, because their homeland is toast.

BTW. What’s going on in Syria started with the droughts there. What caused the droughts? Climate change. You think what’s going on in the Middle East is chaos? We ain’t seen nothin, if the Chinese can’t drink their water or breathe their air.

Anyone who isn’t doing all they can to save our planet is a luddite, a dumb ass. The Chinese have a big seat at the table this years’ COP21 conference. Let’s hope they pound their fists on the table and demand the rest of the world to come together and save ourselves. If not, start looking for a new planet to live on. Because ours will be toast.

I can’t figure who’s worse – terrorists or Republicans. Because the Republican party doesn’t believe in climate change. They’re literally ignoring the signs all around them. Why? Their ego, maybe their belief in end times. Whatever their reasons, they’re wrong.

I think it’s come down to this. If you vote Republican you’re voting for the destruction of all we know, ASAP.
