why we love Patagonia

December 9, 2015 By paulie 1 Comment

Patagonia is the world’s greatest company, we love them. Really, love them. Here’s why:

  1. Repair is a Radical Act

This isn’t just mumbo jumbo marketing. No other company that I know of goes to the mat like Patagonia does, basically telling their customers to not buy anything from them.

When you buy from Patagonia you’re basically ensuring your clothes will last forever. You can either send what you back to them and they’ll repair it, or you can do it yourself. If repairing isn’t an option, Patagonia makes it easy to send your clothing back to them and they’ll reuse what you sent them. Who does? Nobody that I know of but Patagonia.

2. Their customer service is the best. It’s rare now, that I have a positive interaction with a company. All most businesses care about is making money, their products end up in the trash in 6 months.

It’s the opposite at Patagonia. Every experience I’ve had with them, has been outstanding. When you call the company (try calling Facebook or Google), everyone on the phone is super nice. When you go into one of their stores, same thing. Patagonia starts with their culture. They make great products that last forever, because all their people really care about their customers.

3. They go out their way to take care of their customers

Encapsil_Down - 1I have an Encapsil Down jacket. I can send the jacket back to back Patagonia when it needs cleaning and they clean it — no charge. Again, who does? Nobody. Patagonia wants to clean my jacket because in doing so, they’re being better stewards of the environment.

Patagonia is the world’s greatest company. No company that I know of or have come into contact with consistently matches up to them. They’re the gold standard of how to do business.

We love Patagonia, we wear their clothing proud. I hope they’re here forever.
