Buy tasty bacon-not-bacon from Pingala Cafe

March 11, 2018 By paulie Leave a Comment

Renee found this great tasting bacon from Pingala Cafe. It’s great.

Check it out. The ingredients are pretty tight. Only “crap” is brown sugar, which is listed last. That usually means there’s not much in it.

You don’t cook it. Just open it, make a BLT.

Check out their website. I’m impressed. We need more eateries like Pingala.

I’m even more impressed. It turns out on Renee’s 1st order, she ordered 2 bags but they only sent 1 by mistake. Renee called, they’re super cool. They sent the other 1 — plus 1 more. And, a nice handwritten note. Now that’s a company we’re going to support. Here’s the picture:

While on their home page I check out the “Resources” link, here:

Most of the links I knew, but not this one:
Glass Walls – a film by Paul McCartney

Warning. This 13 minute film is disturbing. A couple times, I had to look away.

Some quotes from the film:

“Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet”.
Albert Einstein

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated”
Mohandas Gandhi

“The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men.”
Leonardo da Vinci

“Animals are my friends…and I don’t eat my friends.”
George Bernard Shaw

“Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still  savages”
Thomas Edison

“The Gods created certain kinds of beings to replenish our bodies; they are the trees and the plants and the seeds.”
Plato

“When a human being kills an animal for food, he is neglecting his own hunger for justice. Man prays for mercy, but is unwilling to extend it to others.”
Isaac Bashevis Singer

“To become a vegetarian is to step into the stream which leads to nirvana.”
Buddha

“Basically we should stop doing those things that are destructive to the environment, other creatures, and ourselves and figure out new ways of existing.”
Moby

“I believe being a vegetarian all my life is a secret to my youthful countenance and longevity and perfect health. I truly believe, that fruit is the body’s cleanser, vegetables are the bodies healer, and meat is the bodies premature aging agent.”
Roy Hilligenn
(equaled the world record in the Clean & Jerk Olympic weightlifting event)

If you care about your health, the environment, or animals, you should go vegan.
