the power of the sun

June 21, 2019 By paulie 2 Comments

In 2007 we bought solar.

Last year we bought a Tesla.

We bought solar because we got a tax credit. And, because we save money. The solar eliminated our electricity bill, we even get a few bucks back every year from our utility company.

We bought the Tesla because we got a tax credit. And, because we save money. The Tesla is much lower cost, we don’t have to pay for gasoline, oil changes, mufflers, a bunch of other stuff you pay for in an ICE (internal combustion engine) car.

We’ve had some great cars. The Tesla is better, cheaper, faster, and safer than any of them. By far.

According to my calculations, the solar paid for itself last year.

Today, our solar generates enough excess power so that for a few months a year anyway, when the sun is high, we don’t pay for electricity or to charge the Tesla. The rest of the time our electricity bill is at the most, $30. That $30 covers powering our home and the car.

This is what can happen if we switch to solar and electric cars. We don’t have to pay for electricity for our home, we don’t buy gas. We save money. We’re driving cars that are safer.

Fossil fuels can’t approach this. With fossil fuels we pay to power our home, buy gas for the car. We’re polluting the air, harming Mother Earth, and supporting wars.

With solar and electric cars we’re saving money. We’re helping heal Mother Earth. We’re helping to stop wars.

This is the way forward. The path for a healthy planet and the next 7 generations.

Hilarious video by a disguised Arnold Schwarzenegger trying to sell gas cars to prospective EV customers.
