After the Disco

My buddy blackwellspace turned me on to this beat — “Holding on For Life” from Broken Bells. I love it, can’t quit listening to it. I bought the record, can’t get it off my playlist. It’s a great listen.

This record is amazing. I feel like the 2010’s are the 70’s v. 2.0: disenchantment with our government, pulling out of war(s) where we’ve got a ton of fatigue, a tough economy, high gas prices… but great sex, the end of marijuana prohibition, and feel-good, slow DISCO!

I mean, crap – a Nile Rodgers (of CHIC fame) record – Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” was song of the year. And the biggest hit of last summer (Robin Thicke) was a STRAIGHT JACK of Marvin Gaye’s “Got To Give It Up Pt.2”

      Yep, you called it.

Orwellian times. 1984 is coming true. No, it’s already true. Young people need to take charge of leading the way towards our privacy being returned to us. But us older folks can still bring it, and we will.

Weed is legal in 2 states. Now they just need to legalize prostitution.

The wife and I get it on good, man.

I don’t smoke anymore. But I think it’s great that weed is legal in 2 states. Hopefully people will follow CO and WA.

So for me, now it’s “Sex, life (turns, activism), and rock and roll”.
