Land Regeneration

March 13, 2014 By paulie Leave a Comment

My friend Scott Schlosser is involved in some work that’s truly revolutionary and that could be a big key to saving the environment. In short, Scott is into Natural Sequence Land Management.

Scott is working with Peter Andrews. Here’s a few videos about Peter:

Here’s an email Scott sent me today:

Paul,

I have just returned from my second trip to Australia. This trip was even more eye opening then the first. I continue to mentor under Peter Andrews OM. I spent weeks meeting with the leading scientists from all the major universities and General Michael Jefferies who is the chief environmental consultant to the prime minister Tony Abbot. We worked for 3 days at the leading horse breeding facility in the world owned by Gerry Harvey who’s neighbor is Sheikh Mohammed. We also started work on the largest land holding group in Australia’s main property called Jonniefields owned by the Twynam Agricultural Group. The BBC article below is a good simple explanation as to the general methodology of the work we are doing except they are replanting a single species of plant. I am now in my second year of becoming one of three trainers of Peter’s work. What an honor! We are working with the Australian government, scholars, scientists and ranch owners. The concept is to de-energize and hold water in the landscape. This is accomplished through planting trees and grasses that hold water and creating nutrient rich weirs etc.. The physics of this are truly amazing to see in action utilizing very simple examples. The best part of this methodology is the costs are a fraction of standard methodologies. I am hoping that someday soon we can start looking at changing US Federal, State and local land management practices. Yuri and I had some very simple practical ideas for CRR that we can show you this Spring. Looking forward to a bright future!
