Renee and I celebrated 2 years of being plantarian on 5-1-17. We’re so happy.
Many thanks to Nathan Pritikin. I first learned about the power of nutrition in the early 80’s. It didn’t stick, but I never forgot.
Many thanks to Doctor Caldwell Esselstyn and Forks Over Knives. Forks Over Knives got us to try being plant based. We did it for 3 months, then we went back to our “clean” way of eating. But the message in this seminal film never left my mind.
About a year after watching Forks Over Knives, we watched Cowspiracy. Many thanks to Cowspiracy. After watching Cowspiracy, it was on for us. We ordered The Plantpower Way, went to the store, and changed our lives. We never went back to our old way of eating. Cowspiracy clicked with us not because of the food, because of the connection to the environment.
Many thanks to Rich Roll and Julie Piatt. Their book, The Plantpower Way, which we found from watching Cowspiracy, got us connected to food. The recipes in their book were and are, yummy. As much as we care about the environment, I doubt we’d have made it had we not found The Plantpower Way. We have a deep connection to food now, that goes to the soil. Thank you Julie.
Many thanks to Doctor Michael Greger and everyone at Nutritionfacts.org. Dr. G’s site connected us to how food impacts our bodies and our health. We’re monthly donors to the site. If you can, please become a donor. Doing so helps you and your neighbors.
Many thanks to Doctor Neal Barnard and everyone at The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). We got and get delicious recipes, free, from PCRM. They rock. We’re monthly donors to Dr. G. as well. If you can, support his work – it’s nothing short of heroic.
Most of all, many thanks to Renee. As always, without her I’m lost. She makes everything better. I love her more, every day.
There’s others to thank, I blog about them here. Thank you, thank you. We love you all.
