It’s been a while (years?) since I’ve found not just software to love, a software company to love. Heads up.
I’ve been using OmniFocus by The Omni Group for a few years now. OmniFocus is task management software.
What I mean by “using” is that I’ve had OmniFocus installed. I used it some, but not a lot. About a year ago I started using OmniFocus more. Now, I use it daily.
OmniFocus is task management software. Easily the best I’ve used and I’ve used a bunch of them. But that’s not what prompted me to write this.
What I really love about this software is the support. It’s the best. I call, someone answers the phone. Americans. And they’re really nice. Not just nice, super duper nice. They’ll sit on the phone with you and work out any issue. When you call, it feels like you’re talking to your neighbor and could talk to them all day.
Most software out today is shitty, the software companies are run by zombies who resemble cult figures. Their support is even worse. These guys are the opposite. Their software rocks, tech support is their strong suit.
Other software companies should learn from The Omni Group. Because of them, I’m trying to figure out how to get rid of Evernote, software I abhor. Evernote has all the money in the world, they still can’t get it right. And their support is the worst.
OmniFocus is great, but the company behind it is better. Because, of their people who answer the phone. I’m a loyal customer. I will be so long as they don’t change the mix.
